Brent Lansdale and Faux For You Studio introduced faux finishing to the Golden Triangle beginning 4 years ago. We are excited to say that many designers are incorporating the beautiful art of faux into many of their design styles.

Faux Finish is a name which evolves from the French and translates to "to fool" or "make believe". We use decorative painting to create classical techniques and provide a variety of finished surfaces such as glazing, sponging, color washing, marbling and Italian plasters.

In addition to creating unmatched beauty, a Faux Finish also provides many other advantages. It can be applied to almost any surface, including dry wall, plastering, wood, metal, fabric, glass, and ceramic. Longer lasting than wallpaper, Faux Finishing also provides the advantage of practicality, because it does not have seams. It will not peal off under adverse environmental effects such as humidity. a Faux Finish becomes more beautiful with age. If needed, touch ups and repairs are accomplished very easily. Faux Finish can be top coated with non-yellowing water based acrylic varnish or water born urethanes in dead flat, satin, semi gloss and glass finishes.

A Faux Finish can change the size of any area, (remember Faux Finish is to make believe or to fool someone). With a Faux Finish, you can make a smaller area appear larger, by using lighter colors and a soft technique. It can also make a large area appear smaller by using dark colors and a dramatic technique.

Brent Lansdale has trained some of the top faux finishers in the Golden Triangle and surrounding areas. We maintain an open network with those artists and will be happy to refer you to those who will best suit your needs, IE: mural work, trompe l'oiel, concrete staining.

In addition to painting and faux finishing, Michelle has completed her training and education in Interior Decorating and is now offering her services to the public.
